The tournament is very accessible on foot, by public transport and there will be free parking on site.

There are Taxi and drop off zones at both sites separate to the car park. Please follow signage on arrival.

Please note: Do NOT direct taxis to the Riverside Sports Complex as it will cost you more and take longer due to the narrow access road.

All spectators will be able to park at both playing venues free of charge.

Please note: Do NOT park at the Drop Off location as you will receive a parking fine from the operators of Powerleague who have kindly let us use their car park from drop off only! There will be accessible parking at both sites. Please contact info@wmucc.sport pre-register for a smooth experience.
Public Transport
Highfields Sports Complex
Adjacent to the University Park campus and served by the Green Tram line and local buses (18, 18a, 18b, 35, 35a, 35b, 36, i4, indigo & skylink).
Riverside Sports Complex
Located on the banks of the River Trent, 2 kilometres southeast of the University Park campus. It is served by limited public transport (buses 49, 49A, 49X at the venue) or (buses 1, 3a, 4, N4, 48, 48X, 53, 53B, 54, 54B, MEDI a 1-1.7km / 10-25min walk).

Shuttle Buses (between the two sites)
The Shuttle Bus service will run throughout the game day starting approximately 2 hours before games and ending approximately 30 minutes after games every 5 - 10 minute, start times and end times below, you will need your accreditation or wrist badn to access the shuttle bus service.

Arriving by air
Nottingham is centrally placed in the UK. The closest international airport is Birmingham Airport (BHX) while the major international airports in London and Manchester are approximately 3 hours from Nottingham using public transport. East Midlands Airport (EMA) is the closest airport to Nottingham and is well connected to Europe. We suggest flying to BHX or EMA if you can (the map below shows other major airports and their location in relation to Nottingham).

Please note that the train is often the most direct, but coach or bus may be a cheaper option. Booking trains or buses in advance will likely be cheaper. There is also information below about reaching the venues from the city centre and further details if you are planning to arrive by car.
Teams are expected to make their own transport arrangements from the airport / train station to the Tournament.

Birmingham Airport (BHX) to Nottingham
Train
The Birmingham International Train Station is located at the airport, from this station you can get a train to Nottingham Train Station which is in Nottingham city centre.
This journey will take around 2 hours with 1-2 changes, depending on the day and time of the train.
You will need to buy train tickets before getting on your train.
Although tickets can be bought at the train station this could be very expensive, so it is recommended to book and pay for your tickets in advance.
Tickets can be booked via the TrainLine website.
Prices will increase as we get closer to the date, so it is highly recommended to book early.
Coach
Perhaps the most affordable travel option is getting a coach.
This will need to be booked in advance to ensure a seat and it will be cheaper the earlier you book it.
There are different coach companies that go directly from the airport to Nottingham City Centre:
Megabus - 2 hours 15 minute direct journey.
National Express - 1 hour 45 minute direct journey.

East Midlands Airport (EMA) to Nottingham
Train
To get from EMA to Nottingham you will need to get to East Midlands Parkway Train Station which is not located at the airport. Unfortunately no buses operate this journey so the connection will have to be by taxi.
Once at this station you can get a direct train that takes around 20 minutes to Nottingham Train Station which is in Nottingham city centre.
You will need to buy train tickets before getting on your train.
Although tickets can be bought at the train station this could be very expensive, so it is recommended to book and pay for your tickets in advance.
Tickets can be booked via the TrainLine website.
Prices might increase as we get closer to the date, so it is highly recommended to book early.
Bus
There is a bus route called Skylink with Trentbarton that goes from near the airport to the University of Nottingham and takes around 50 minutes.
Tickets can be bought directly on the bus by talking to the bus driver, more information about fares can be found under ‘’Fares & Tickets” on the website.

Gatwick Airport (LGW) to Nottingham
Train
The Gatwick Airport Train Station is located at the airport, from this station you can get a train to Nottingham Train Station which is in Nottingham city centre.
This journey will take around 2 ½ to 3 hours with 1 change, depending on the day and time of the train.
You will need to buy train tickets before getting on your train.
Although tickets can be bought at the train station this could be very expensive, so it is recommended to book and pay for your tickets in advance.

Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Nottingham
Train
Due to the size of Heathrow Airport, there are many different train station terminals.
The train to Nottingham Train Station usually departs from Heathrow Terminal 5 Train Station and also stops at Heathrow Terminal 2 & 3 Train Station which are both located at the airport.
This journey will take around 3 ½ hours with 2-3 changes, depending on the day and time of the train.
You will need to buy train tickets before getting on your train.
Although tickets can be bought at the train station this could be very expensive, so it is recommended to book and pay for your tickets in advance.

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) to Nottingham
Train
To get from this airport to Nottingham you will need to get a coach from the airport to Leeds Train Station, this journey will take around 35 minutes.
From Leeds Train Station it is then a 2 hour direct train to Nottingham Train Station which is in Nottingham city centre.
Tickets for this journey, including the coach, can be booked and purchased on the TrainLine website.
As of early March, the tickets are not available to book. You can sign up to receive an email once they can be booked.
Coach
Perhaps the most affordable travel option is getting a coach.
This will need to be booked in advance to ensure a seat and it will be cheaper the earlier you book.
At Leeds Bradford Airport you can get a coach to go to Leeds Coach Station, you can then take another coach from here which will take you to Nottingham Broad Marsh Bus Station.
It is recommended to book this journey in advance via the National Express website. The journey is around 3 hours 45 minutes.

London Luton Airport (LTN) to Nottingham
Train
The Luton Airport Parkway Train Station is a 30 minute walk away from Luton Airport.
Alternatively you can get a 10 minute shuttle bus that can take you directly from the airport to the train station.
This shuttle bus leaves every 10 minutes, all day between 05:00 and midnight.
A single ticket for the shuttle bus costs £2.40 and can be paid for on the bus by contactless payment only. More information can be found under the section “Getting from the station to the airport” on the Airport’s website.
The train journey from Luton Airport Parkway to Nottingham will take around 1h 40 minutes with 1 change, depending on the day and time of the train.

Travelling from the City Centre
Most public transport from around the UK will take you into Nottingham City Centre either by train, bus or coach. From the city centre you can take a tram directly to the University of Nottingham - University Park campus. The primary playing fields (Highfields) are adjacent to this campus. The secondary playing fields (Riverside) are served by a number of bus routes as detailed above.
Nottingham Tram
Nottingham Express Transit’s (NET) tram service links Nottingham city centre, including Nottingham train station, to University Park Campus. There are two stops on University Boulevard, one at the South Entrance of the campus and one adjacent to the Highfields Sports Ground.
NET offers a number of ticket options and ways to buy. You can buy a single ticket at the ticket vending machines at any tram stop.

Please note, all tram travel is 'buy before you board'. To avoid a penalty fare please ensure you buy a ticket or validate your travel pass before getting on a tram.
Nottingham Trent University
Please note, Nottingham has another University called Nottingham Trent University, not to be confused with our hosts at the University of Nottingham.
If you accidentally get public transport to Nottingham Trent this won’t be an issue, the University is located within Nottingham’s City Centre. Information in the “Getting to the venues from the city” section above explains how to get from the city centre to the University of Nottingham.
